Geoff Jones is not only driving the Little Big Forest float loaded with JFES students, he’s leading the charge to save this 40 acre slice of heaven.
Fundraising is Our goal: We need to raise $200,000 for closing and project costs, in addition to the $1.3 million dollars that are being pursued through state, federal, corporate, and foundation grants to purchase the property.
Please see the great write up by Geoff. All I can say is that the property is an awesome specimen. A rarity in its own right. To think there is a piece of old growth forest right in our own backyard. The experts that have already seen this jewel all agree that except for the creation of Phyllis Ln and the dock and the cabin, it’s never been farmed or disturbed by machinery.
